Article for Class Discussion.

Following this link will take you to an article from The New Yorker in 2008, The Rebellion Within by Lawrence Wright. It regards the de-radicalization of formerly terrorist Muslim groups. This is significant to my paper as I attempt to understand why there are so few homegrown terrorist attacks in America (seeing as how there are swaths of the population that think American Muslims, of which there may be as many as 2,595,000,[1] pose a threat to domestic security). In my own study, I look specifically at the Salafi branch of Islam that is often labeled as the most puritanical of the Muslim sects. I would recommend simply reading the section following the heading "The Manifesto" for the sake of brevity. Have a good weekend and enjoy!
